Fergal Hegarty (pictured right) has taken over as manager of the Ballyea Senior Hurling Team from Robbie Hogan (pictured centre).

Hogan announced his departure from the role earlier this week having guided Ballyea to a historic County and Munster title last season.

Hegarty as Head Coach was a key member of the management team that helped to bring Ballyea to Croke Park on St Patrick's Day when they lost out to Cuala in the All Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship Final.

Ballyea's clubify account reports that the Kilnamona man will bring two new selectors on board for the coming season as well as retain one of the existing selectors.
