Tipperary 0-28 Clare 0-21

Tipperary maintained their unbeaten run in this year's Allianz National Hurling League with a 7-point win over Clare at Semple Stadium in Thurles on Sunday.

John McGrath's haul of 10 points along with five points from play for John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer killed off the challenge of the Banner who were looking for their second win of the 2017 campaign.

Clare led by 0-11 to 0-10 at half time but faced an uphill task in the second half against a strong wind.

Clare also suffered an injury setback as corner back Oisín O’Brien was stretchered off with a knee injury.

David Reidy (0-6) was Clare's top scorer on the day with all of his points coming from frees. John Conlon and Podge Collins scored 0-4 each while Ian Galvin scored three points from play having come on as a second half substitute.

Clare narrowed the margin to just three points approaching second half injury time but four unanswered points secured Michael Ryan's side all three points.

Next up for Clare is the meeting with Dublin at Cusack Park next Sunday at 2.00 p.m.
